Vegan Christmas Gift Guide - For him 2019

Like our Vegan Christmas Gift Guide - For her, this gift guide is for those of you looking to buy a gift for a Vegan man in your life or for those of you who are already Vegan and are looking for ideas to buy for your maybe non-vegan family or friends but still want to spend your money on plant based gifts.

Australia was the most popular country in the world for veganism in 2018 according to Google Trends and The Vegan Society which means there is a good chance that you know someone who is plant based and they aren't just women either. There are plenty of vegan men out there and my husband is one of them! A very big thank you to my hubby Tony Stretton for putting together most of the ideas for this guide and for sourcing all of the products.

Disclaimer: ALL of the products featured in this gift guide were purchased by me (well, my husband actually), using our own money. This is not a sponsored post.

GROOMING

Like Veganism, beards are still going to be a popular trend for men into 2020. What better way to support them in their efforts of beard growing amazingness than to get them a beard oil that will help to soften and style the beard hair while keeping the hair and skin underneath moisterised.

This handcrafted set of organic, natural, vegan beard oils from D and T, comes with three different blends - Noosa, Original and Peace.

The packaging is also pretty cool, having a very natural, organic look with the stamp detail on the top of the box and the natural fibres inside where the beard oils are nestled. My dad has had a beard since the early 1980's and this is going to be my gift to him this Christmas. I hope you enjoy them dad!

SHAVING

So the man in your life doesn't have a beard and prefers to shave? No worries, we have you covered here as well! This shaving soap from the family hub organics is unscented, 100% cruelty free and palm oil free. This particular product is handmade here in Perth WA, using organic oils and enriched with mango butter. This soothing mix is suitable for sensitive skin and provides a moisturising shave.

Did you know that most shaving brushes are made from boar or badger bristles? I can't bring myself to look into the production of these products so went out to try to find another option. We found this shaving brush from The Body Shop which is 100% vegan, animal free synthetic hair. The bristles are soft yet firm and the base of the brush is entirely made from wood. The bristle of a shaving brush helps to lather the shaving soap, soften and lift the hair for a closer shave, and gently exfoliates the skin.

These would make a great pair together.

FOOD

We are always on the look out for fun, interesting and of course tasty vegan food and have found that there are plenty of different sauces that are "accidentally vegan". By that we mean that they are vegan but not necessarily on purpose! Whenever buying food we ALWAYS check the ingredients list because, honestly, you just don't know when you will find milk poweder in your food!

We found these three interesting sauces:

1. Vegetarian Thai Chilli Dip (it's even gluten free) .

2. Raw, vegan hot sauce by an Australian company called Hilbilby.

3. Cocomino BBQ sauce - coconut amino sauce from Niulife. It's also gluten free and organic.

We decided to pair these with some sweet BBQ vegan jerky from Noble Jerky. This is made from marinated and seasoned soy protein. It is very sweet so make sure your gift recipient has a sweet tooth!

FESTIVE SPIRITS

When we saw these we just couldn't pass them up. These Gingle bells are a set of 6 flavour infused, floral, Australian gin's, inside cute Christmas tree baubles.

The flavours are:

Pepperberry

Butterfly Pea

Wattleseed

Finger Lime

Wild Hibiscus

Snow Chrysanthemum

Inside the box is a card with a different cocktail recipe for each of the flavoured gin's in the set. They are pretty heavy and we needed at least two tree branches to hold up each bauble on our tree. The other down side, is that it is quite expensive given that combined they are just over 300ml of gin. But, they are pretty special gin flavours and could very well be worth the money but we haven't tried them yet since it's not Christmas. These are all super cute and you can re-use the baubles once you have finished the gin inside and replace it with another liquid for next year!

COFFEE

Go cups have been all the rage for a number of years now and it's great to see so many people switching up from single use disposable take away coffee cups to reusable keep cups. In Australian about 1 billion disposable coffee cups end up in landfill every year. By avoiding single use coffee cups, within 3 years you could prevent approx. 3kgs of plastic waste.

We have taken this one step further and found an eco travel cup where the main up is made from biodegradable and eco friendly bamboo fibre. The top and heat proof band are made from silicone. I really like this neutral design and colour and this travel cup will hold a large coffee. To really make this gift something special, I suggest including a gift card to their favourite coffee shop or a bag of their favourite coffee beans so they can make their coffee at home to go.

LITERATURE

This little gem is called Plant Powered Men and was compiled by Kathy Divine. This book is a series of interviews from men who are passionate about living a plant-powered lifestyle for other men who want to increase their strength, endurance, performance and energy using a plant based diet. This book aims to inspire and motivate you to achieve your goals and highest potential with examples of strong, healthy men who are thriving on a plant powered diet.

Given the rise of vegan athletes and documentaries like The Game Changers this book would be inspirational for any men in your life who are interested in health and fitness whether they are currently vegan or not.
